    "Sweetie, if you see something you love and your have enough in your pocketbook to buy it, please do. When you go home, you will remember it and regret not purchasing it. Your home should have special lovely things in it" I try to always follow Nana's advice!

    We have collected American Antiques for years and that is my husband's mantra! In my "old age" however I have to remind him to not buy something unless we have a place for it! Happy Thanksgiving!

  13. I first read that advice in Southern Accents magazine and it was a slightly different wording from Dan Carithers. I agree 100%, although I confess, I'm made a few buying errors along the way. :-)

  25. Well, I USED to buy without a plan but ended up with too much stuff! Now I try not to stick to a room plan, but I still do love a good bargain or if I absolutely love something that I'll have to find a place for. (oops, the conflicted mind of a shopaholic!)   33. Very good point. I am just the opposite, If I don't know where it is going I don't buy it!However I do have an abundance of articles in storage that i no longer use and just can't part with. Maybe I will try a new way of thinking
