Phyllis, I do believe both you and Christian are giving me carte blanche to do more shopping whenever I choose? You are a doll:) Happy thanksgiving. Paul x
I couldn't have said it better myself. I just hope, for my sake, that the people on the show "Hoarders" didn't start out saying the same thing! Have a great day Phyllis! - Tonya
Smart! My sentiments exactly. I am not one of those who has to have a place to buy something I love. When I love something, its a done deal..its going home with me:) Happy and healthy Thanksgiving to you Phyllis.
"Sweetie, if you see something you love and your have enough in your pocketbook to buy it, please do. When you go home, you will remember it and regret not purchasing it. Your home should have special lovely things in it" I try to always follow Nana's advice!
We have collected American Antiques for years and that is my husband's mantra! In my "old age" however I have to remind him to not buy something unless we have a place for it! Happy Thanksgiving!
I first read that advice in Southern Accents magazine and it was a slightly different wording from Dan Carithers. I agree 100%, although I confess, I'm made a few buying errors along the way. :-) Enjoy your weekend. Karen
Well, I USED to buy without a plan but ended up with too much stuff! Now I try not to stick to a room plan, but I still do love a good bargain or if I absolutely love something that I'll have to find a place for. (oops, the conflicted mind of a shopaholic!) Thanks for your support Phyllis, and have a blessed Thanksgiving. xo Nancy Powellbrowerhome.com
Very good point. I am just the opposite, If I don't know where it is going I don't buy it!However I do have an abundance of articles in storage that i no longer use and just can't part with. Maybe I will try a new way of thinking Kathysue

I have kicked my self so many times because I passed something up...later realizing it would of been perfect.
ReplyDeleteI too have passed on items and so regretted it!! Great saying! Have a great Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteWell how can we argue with the man who brought us those shoes, which unfortunately I must wait to buy! But other than than I agree whole heartedly!!

This is the philosophy that gets me into so much trouble, but it's good to know others espouse it. Thanks for the comfort, Phyllis.

My motto exactly! And I usually always find the perfect spot for them :)
ReplyDeleteThings you love and make you feel good always find a place in one's home !..
ReplyDeleteAmen to that!! I always have a tendency to over think things. I need to remind myself if I love it and it fits the budget - just get it!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving Phyllis!
