This month's Try This At Home features some favorite antique resources - From Tone on Tone, a 19th-century Gustavian chest.

Vintage iron garden urn from Relics.
A selection of small gilt mirrors from A. Tyner Antiques.
From Charles Spada Antiques, French mercury glass candlesticks.
An antique French ashtray in the shape of an insect from A Beautiful Mess Antiques, and pictured on their Facebook page here.
On the wall, Farrow and Ball's Smoked Trout.
If you don't have the luxury of a garden full of cutting flowers, the farmer's market is an excellent alternative.

Phyllis, how I love that first image, the composition is excellent isn't it? And, the vintage garden urn...I have 2 super large ones outside my front door which I came to own in a very funny way, I treasure them, truly. Big hug...
ReplyDeleteHey Phyllis -
ReplyDeleteI love Skona Hem! One of my favorite foreign shelter magazines. I always grab it when we visit Scandinavia. Sometimes it is free on the SAS flights :) Thanks for selecting our chest ;-) Great eye....you've matched the entire vignette nicely!!

What a beautiful vignette and I love the chest from Tone on Tone...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Phyllis,
ReplyDeleteLoved the mirrors from A Tyner Antiques. My problem is trying to be spare. The only thing I seem to have room for are more books - it could be disease. But, flowers - have to get them from the farmer's market because it's too sad to cut them from my garden where they look so good. My life is simply full of conflicts.
Thanks of the inspiration and have a great day-
b
Beautiful..I'm getting off my duff and running the farmers market now to get fresh flowers...thanks for the inspiration.

What a clever post Phyllis. That chest of Loi's definately sets the stage!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tablescape and you've sourced everything perfectly. It also really illustrates that keeping things simple is the way to go. x Sharon
